Executive Summary
Problem
For individuals taking long-term medication, relying on memory or phone alarms often leads to missed or double doses; even with excellent memory, can you truly ensure there will be no errors every day?
Solution
MedTrackr combines streamlined IoT device integration, double medication reminders, image & character recognition for data collection, and cross-device notifications, ensuring a user-centric health data management experience.
Problem Statement
“How might we provide a more intuitive experience for patients with frequent medication needs to effectively record, monitor, and understand their daily health data for optimal health maintenance."

MAIN FEATURES
Feature I:
IoT Device Integration
The app's Bluetooth/IoT connectivity feature enables users to collect and manage their health data with greater accuracy and efficiency.

Feature II:
Non-IoT Device Data Collection
Users can simply take a picture of their devices or meters to collect data, catering to older devices or those without Bluetooth connectivity.
Feature III:
Automatic Dosage Identification
The app utilizes image recognition to identify medication details, prompting users to confirm or manually adjust the strength, frequency, and dose.

Feature IV:
Double Medication Reminders
The app sends a second reminder 5 minutes after the initial medication alert, ensuring patients remember to take their medicine. Since many users often check off the alarm without snoozing, this additional prompt helps prevent forgetfulness

Feature V:
Tired of carrying your phone everywhere?
Why not let every platform help you?

INITIAL THOUGHTS + MOTIVES
My personal experience with having family members at home who require regular medication for blood pressure management has given me a profound understanding of the challenges they face. The constant worry about whether they have remembered to take their medication has inspired me to explore the possibility of designing a user-friendly application that can assist them in better managing their health data.

RESEARCH FINDINGS
Through interviews with individuals like Wei and Mark, frequent medication users who, despite being somewhat comfortable with technology, often face challenges in managing their health, from medication schedules to health data tracking. These insights underscore the pressing need for an intuitive digital solution tailored to their specific requirements.

"I also take some pills. I write down the schedule on a piece of paper, but sometimes I still forget if I've taken it, and that worries me."

"I used a blood pressure meter and wrote the readings in a notebook. However, I frequently forgot to log the readings due to my bad memory."

"Well, I don't always have it with me. I mean, I've got my home phone, and I prefer using that when I'm at home. When I'm out, I just don't want to be bothered by all the notifications and stuff on my cell phone."

My Apporach
A mobile app ensures on-the-go access, allowing users to effortlessly track health data at their convenience. Its user-friendly interface enhances engagement, promoting consistent and efficient medication management.
1. Streamline data collection through IoT device integration.
2. Employ image recognition for automatic dosage identification.
3. Utilize character recognition for non-IoT device data collection.
4. Enable cross-device notifications for timely reminders.

Opportunities

Secondary Users
Healthcare professionals relying on accurate patient data
Primary Users
Patients requiring frequent medication intake
Excluded Users
Individuals without the need for regular medication intake or health data tracking
User Flow
I outlined the user flow in a digital flowchart, mapping out the application's logic before progressing to wireframing.

Wireframes
Based on the flowchart, I created wireframes with essential content and layouts to assess usability. A key observation is that larger buttons enhance accessibility, particularly beneficial for the elderly, who are the demographic most frequently managing medication intake.
